WADOO!!NEWS: Donald Trump Blames Charlie Hebdo Tragedy on French Gun Control, Sparks Outrage
Donald Trump did offer his condolences and prayers to everyone affected by the horrific attack on the Charlie Hebdo offices in Paris on Wednesday. He also took to Twitter to share some controversial opinions on gun control and what he believes might have helped prevent the tragic events.
“If the people so violently shot down in Paris had guns, at least they would have had a fighting chance,” he wrote. “Isn’t it interesting that the tragedy in Paris took place in one of the toughest gun control countries in the world?”
“Remember,” he wrote, “when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns!”
Not surprisingly, the Celebrity Apprentice boss’ comments sparked outrage across the Internet. The word “moron” was tossed around quite a lot, while others responded with disdain and disbelief at the insensitivity of his tweets. Producer Scott Goldberg, for example, tweeted at Donald, “You really had to make that asinine comment in the wake of a tragedy just to promote yourself didn’t you? #idiot #tool”
The Trumpster’s political tweets didn’t stop there, though. Just hours after his rant about gun control, he retweeted no less than 30 fans suggesting he run for office, something the left-leaning Republican has expressed interest in in the past. Just this past November, the 68-year-old mogul, who frequently criticizes current U.S. president Barack Obama, told Newsmax he was taking a “serious look” at a 2016 presidential run.
“I mean, I am going to look and I’m going to study and I’m going to see who’s running and I’m going to see what’s going to happen on the other side,” he said. “The country is doing horribly…We’re being scoffed at from all over, from every angle, and you look at what’s going on militarily and every other way. So, I’m going to take a very serious look and then I’ll see what happens.”
Of course, not all of Donald’s viewpoints sit well with the American public. Thursday morning, for example, he tweeted glibly about the global climate crisis, writing, “It’s record cold all over the country and world-where the hell is global warming, we need some fast!”
