WADOO!!NEWS: Former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes agrees to join Man Utd on two-year deal
Victor Valdes has agreed a two-year deal to join Manchester United, UK’s Express reports. The Spanish keeper has been training with the Old Trafford outfit since October as he looks to work his way back from a cruciate knee injury.
The former Barcelona man is available on a free transfer but was reportedly reluctant to sign for United if it meant only playing back up to David De Gea. Liverpool have also been linked with a move for Valdes with doubts persisting over Brendan Rodgers faith in Simon Mignolet. But it seems that Valdes has now been persuaded to put pen to paper at United. Reports in Spain suggest that the 32-year-old has agreed a deal that will see him remain at the club for the next two years. Just before Christmas, Louis van Gaal hit out at suggestions that Valdes would join. He said: “It’s only talk from you. “Not from us, not from Valdes, only the media. I’m not here to inform the media. You have to wait and listen and see. “If Liverpool are interested, he goes to Liverpool. The media are suggesting and that’s a big mistake. “That’s why I’m always angry because you are inventing stories. There are no stories. “He is training here. I give him the possibility to do that. We shall see.” But it now seems that the keeper and club have reached agreement on a deal to keep him at United for the foreseeable future.
