An off-duty Los Angeles police officer was involved in a shooting in Downey early Monday morning, according to authorities.
The shooting happened shortly after 1 a.m., in the 7800 block of Borson Street, according to Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Andy Neiman.
Two suspects have been taken to the hospital, Neiman said, but he couldn’t immediately provide details on their condition.
The officer was also hurt and taken to a hospital, but the injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening, according to authorities. “I don’t believe he was shot,” Neiman said.
Downey police confirmed that no officers had been shot and no Downey officers were involved.
Local TV coverage showed investigators working at a crime scene in the driveway of a house on Borson Street. Neiman said police don’t know yet how the suspects and officer are related to the home.
Downey police and the LAPD are both working to determine what happened, according to Neiman.
